چکیده

Microstructural development and mechanical properties of tungsten heavy alloy, WHA, with FeNiCoCrMn high entropy HEA, binder were investigated compared to conventional WHA using Fe–Ni binder. Both WHAs, HEA binders, fabricated by hot isostatic pressing at a temperature 1450 °C in an argon environment. Scanning electron microscopy revealed that binders possessed uniform well-refined microstructures. Energy dispersive spectroscopy X-ray diffraction, XRD, validated the formation composition existing as skeletal network surrounding grains. exhibited overall increase 42% micro Vickers hardness values. Furthermore, values alloy also seen rise when However, sample was undergo faster strain hardening premature failure, leading lower ultimate strength reduced ductility.

Microstructure, Tensile and Creep Properties of Ta20Nb20Hf20Zr20Ti20 High Entropy Alloy

This paper examines the microstructure and mechanical properties of Ta20Nb20Hf20Zr20Ti20. Two casting processes, namely, gravity casting and suction-assisted casting, were applied, both followed by Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP). The aim of the current study was to investigate the creep and tensile properties of the material, since the literature review revealed no data whatsoever regarding these...

Slip nucleation in single crystal FeNiCoCrMn high entropy alloy

a r t i c l e i n f o We present an experimental and theoretical study of slip nucleation in high entropy FeNiCoCrMn alloy which possesses superb mechanical properties. Uniaxial compression experiments were conducted on the ½591Š oriented single crystals. The single crystals permit evaluation of critical resolved shear stress (CRSS), and using Digital Image Correlation strain measurements it is...

Mechanical properties and microstructural evolution of vacuum hot-pressed titanium and Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy.

Hot-pressing is a powder metallurgy process where loose powder is loaded into a mould, usually of graphite, and sintered by the simultaneous application of high temperature and pressure. In this study elemental titanium and Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy powders are hot-pressed under different conditions in order to study the influence of the processing parameters on the microstructure and mechanical propert...

Microstructure and mechanical characteristics of dissimilar aluminium alloy joining employing gas tungsten arc welding

Despite the increased use of aluminium alloys in several industries, their common concern is the difficulty of joining dissimilar alloys using welding techniques. Based on this, the primary purpose of this research is to assess the mechanical characteristics of dissimilar joining of heat-treatable 6061 and non-heat-treatable 5083 aluminium alloys by gas tungsten arc welding and to discover the ...
